3GP Players and Viewers - Free Download Software (Freeware)
Don’t have 3GP enabled cellular phone? Don’t worry, download it and watch it on your PC!
If you don’t know, you need a special software in order to play .3gp file format. A normal, free application that comes bundled with your Microsoft Operating system, Microsoft Windows Media Player just can’t play the .3gp and .3gpp files.
If you’re using a PC on Windows, you might need to download Apple Quicktime. Don’t worry, for a basic features, it’s free. However, if you wanted an advanced features, you need to purchase it.
If you’re using a cellphone, by default there’s an application installed inside. For Nokia, you can use Nokia Multimedia Player. Similar to Blackberry smartphone, it has an internal video player that is capable of playing .3gp files.
By right, any 3gp converter is a 3gp player itself. It can play and view 3gp files. However, most of the 3gp converter out there is a paid version.
Most of the videos available online were taken with camera phone, which is why the quality is fairly low. These are natively in the 3GPP (*.3gp) format, and few generous people converted these files from MPEG to 3GP.

Please bear in mind, the only disadvantage in comparison 3GP to the MPEGs is that they’re about 3 times the size to download. On a system with a good media player with proper support, the 3GP and MPEG versions will look the same. In reality, at least with Quicktime, MPEG looks much better, especially when the window is resized to a larger size.
